Mookaite Jasper and Electroformed Cicada Pendant | Tinklet Jewelry
Bugsy...Electroformed Insect Taxidermy
Wings spread, and all the beautiful, intricate details captured. This gorgeous, oddity of nature is created from a real specimen. It was not cast from a mold but a gorgeous Ambragaeana Ambra Cicada from Thailand. In their natural habitat, these cicadas have lovely shades of chocolate and mocha brown with ivory spots.
This specimen is carefully preserved and electroformed in copper to create a stunning, one of a kind necklace statement piece of jewelry. In the center, we added a luscious mookaite jasper. Mookaite is an Australian Jasper. It starts with bold, earthy beauty and an intense fusion of reds and yellows as accents. This beautiful stone gets its name from the Mooka Creek.
The chain is crafted from 18-gauge copper wire. Each link meticulously twisted and formed. Small mookaite beads dot the length of the chain, tying it all together. This chain is about 18 inches long. The pendant, when measured from the wingspan, is about 3¾ inches wide. When worn, the pendant rests just above the breastbone for everyone to see and admire.
Although plated in copper and very sturdy, it should be treated with care. We recommend that you remove your jewelry before sleeping, bathing, exercising, or cleaning. The pendant and necklace are sealed with renaissance wax, but over time will darken as copper tends to do. To prolong the aging, keep stored in a Ziplock bag.
Coordinate this exotic pendant with any ensemble from business casual to everyday wear for a look that will turn heads; it’s a conversation starter.
All items arrive in a cute little black box or satchel ready for gift giving.
