Damselfly Pendant with Verascite Cabochon | Tinklet Jewelry
These little insects are a work of art captured in copper. The process, electroforming serves to enhance the details in the wings on the body. We try to capture some of the natural settings so that it's life-like.
These little insects are fun to watch as they bounce and land on everything. If you love nature I’m sure you’ve found yourself marveled by these little guys. We love to work with organics because we love the preservation aspect of the work. It’s one of the ways you can look at, pick up, and admire the beauty around you keeping a little piece of it with you forever.
Did you know that dragonflies and damselflies aren’t the same? They aren’t even related. Damselflies are slender and sleeker. They have widely separated eyes while dragonflies have eyes on the top of their heads. When not in flight, damselflies usually hold their wings up over their backs. Dragonflies hold their wings open and to the side.
This damselfly is posed on a real branch and has a gorgeous Verascite cabochon. The chain is handmade as well from 18-gauge wire; each link carefully made to mismatch the other, a combination of twists and turns; 18 inches long. Every attention to detailed is honored to show off this gorgeous little insect. The pendant is 3 inches when measured at the widest angles. When worn it rests just above the breastbone so it can be seen with whatever you wear.
Verascite brings joyous feelings of peace and harmony. It's a stone that is said to relieve stress and anxiety. This stone is typically found in Bolivia, Austria, Germany, and in some places in the US such as Arizona and Nevada.
Nature lovers, does this piece speak to you? If so, don't hesitate. We do have a few other options, but each design is unique. It all depends on the insect, the mood, the feel at the time it's created. Each one is unique and even when we try to replicate it …it's never the same.
