Dragonfly Scarf Brooch | Tinklet Jewelry
This dragonfly has been converted into a scarf brooch; a beautiful work of art this is a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry that will be sure to turn heads. It’s a little piece of nature preserved forever for you to admire and cherish. This brooch is an elegant addition to your collection. Pair it with a satin or chiffon scarf for a dramatic effect.
The design process does take some time. Once I have decided on a basic structure for the piece, I pose the dragonfly carefully on a branch. I like doing this because it keeps the overall design natural, very organic. As crazy as it may sound, I let the insect dictate the pose and feel, even the stone that will be paired. This particular one has been electroformed in copper first then silver-plated and antiqued.
In almost every part of the world, the dragonfly symbolizes change and transformation. When we mention a change in this context, it has to do with mental and emotional maturity, understanding the deeper meaning of life. These dragonflies are typically found in Malaysia where they breed in and around forest streams. Their wingspan measures about 3 – 3.5 inches across.
This dragonfly has been paired with a beautiful Azurite cabochon. Azurites is said to temper the mind; it releases stress and confusion and alleviates worry, indecision, and thoughts that linger in the back of the consciousness. It restores balance and control over emotions and reactions.
Nature lovers, does this piece speak to you? If so, don't hesitate. We do have a few other options, but each design is unique. It all depends on the insect, the mood, the feel at the time it's created. Each one is unique and even when we try to replicate it …it's never the same.
