We love preserving things and this bumblebee is no exception. This precious social insect is a beautiful specimen. Electroformed in copper with its wings extended we were able to preserve all the details. The intricate wing patterns appear to have wind beneath them as he sits perched on a branch curious about the sunstone lying within its reach. It’s a conversation piece that is sure to draw attention every time you wear it!
The cabochon in this pendant is a Sunstone. It’s said to instill good nature and heighten intuition. It dissipates fearfulness and helps alleviate stress and increase vitality. It thought to be linked to luck and good fortune.
Did you know that there are over 250 species of bumblebees? Bumblebees for the most part are social insects that form colonies with a single queen. They are fascinating to watch. A little larger than honeybees and they do not produce very much honey. But they are instrumental in pollinating flowers. The role of a bee in nature makes it a symbol of hard work, sustainability, and life.
The pendant height is 2 ¼ inches, the width 2 inches; 3-dimensional design. The chain is 20 inches long. If you take a close look you'll see that we've fashioned the links and trapped a little cream-colored cat's eye bead within them. The beads look as if they are wearing top hats! This pendant requires care in that you should keep it in a sealed pouch or baggie and away from other items that may damage the wings; it should be stored separately.
